Canadian Democracy - First Nations

About 4% of Canadians identify as First Nations which, for purposes of the Canadian Democracy Town Square Opinion, includes aboriginal, Inuit and Métis peoples.

Canada has a long history of difficult relationships with First Nations that continues to challenge all parties. Notwithstanding the reconciliation and progress made in recent years, First Nations people generally do not enjoy the same standard of living as most Canadians as evidenced by unemployment, youth suicide rates, substance abuse, and systemic discrimination.

For our Town Square Opinion we have 5 questions for you on the topic of First Nations.
